The “Weg der Demokratie” (Path of democracy) through the former government district that was opened in Bonn on 21st May 2004 recalls the 50 year history of the Federal Republic of Germany. Starting at the Haus der Geschichte (House of History) on the Museumsmeile (Museum Mile) a walk that takes between one and a half and two hours guides you past 18 representative sights at which german democracy was formed. These include the house of the German Federal Parliament (Bundestag), the Office of the Federal Chancellor (Bundeskanzleramt), “Langer Eugen”, the former office building for the members of parliament, now the UN campus, or the Museum Koenig, where the Parliamentary Council was ceremoniuosly opened.
10:00 am: Welcome the guests in the lobby of the Maritim hotel. Group walk to the next bus/subway station. Start of the guided tour "path of democracy". This walkabout passes various, time historical, important places of the former government district.
12:15 pm: Return to the hotel.
12:30 pm: Farewell of the group.
